Governance and Decision-Making at SAF

SAF operates under the Afghanistan NGOs Law, upholding the highest principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability. We prioritize a participatory decision-making approach, ensuring that diverse perspectives guide our strategic directions.

Decision-making is structured across three key tiers:

  1. General Council & Board of Trustees – Involved in policy formulation, strategic planning, and oversight.
  2. Management Board – Oversees organizational performance, compliance, and strategic implementation.
  3. Executive Board – Comprising departmental and provincial managers responsible for day-to-day operations and program execution.

This governance structure ensures that SAF remains responsive to stakeholders, accountable to beneficiaries, and aligned with its mission.
