Solidarity for Afghan Families (SAF) in order to effectively implement its projects in line with contractual requirements, usually conducts performance review workshops through which the management teams of projects are invited and given the opportunity to share their achievements, concerns and challenges with the management board of SAF. Moreover, the performance review workshop is assumed as an effective tool for the management board of SAF to review the performances of projects and effectively plan for the next phase. It is worthy of mentioning that decisions in the performance review workshops are taken in a participatory manner.

The latest six-month planning, performance review workshop was successfully conducted over two days, on 3–4 May 2026 (Sunday and Monday), at SAF central office in Kabul, Afghanistan. The workshop was held under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Abdul Wali “Ziar” SAF general director and brought together key project and technical staff from both Parwan and Maidan Wardak provinces with the main focus on the following objectives:
Overall Objective
To comprehensively review the performance of SAF’s ongoing projects including BPHS and non-BPHS for the period October 2025 to March 2026 and develop actionable strategies for improving implementation and achieving project targets.
Specific Objectives
1. To assess progress against planned targets and indicators for each project.
2. To provide field staff with the opportunities to raise/share their concern, issues, and questions with deferent sections (program and operation) of head office in an interactive way.
3. To review financial utilization and operational efficiency.
4. To identify key challenges, gaps, and bottlenecks in implementation.
5. To share lessons learned and best practices across provinces.
6. To strengthen coordination between provincial teams and Kabul HO.
7. To develop intensive, time-bound action plans to address identified gaps.
8. To enhance accountability and performance monitoring mechanisms.
