1. Child Protection/AHF Project (Project Code: AFG-19/3481/RA4/APC/NGO/14847):

The Project Title: Provision of community-based protection services for at- risk and displaced children to prevent and respond to child protection concerns including early and forced marriages, girls’ inaccessibility to education, child recruitment, child labour and child abuse. This project after a competitive bidding process was awarded to SAF by UN-OCHA in December 11, 2019. Through this project, SAF in line with the strategic objectives and humanitarian response plan 2019 (HRP 2019), will offer the community-based protection services for at- risk and displaced children and their families in Saripul, Faryab, Takhar and Kunduz provinces in order to prevent and respond to child protection concerns including early and forced marriages, girls’ inaccessibility to education, child recruitment, child labour and child abuse. A total of 32,000 Children (17,000 girls and 15,000 boys) have been reached directly while 45,000 adults (25,000 women, 20,000 men) were reached through community awareness on child protection related issues. The project has been successfully completed in August 10, 2020.

  1. Better future for street working children (BFSWC):

From Dec 2010 up to March 2012, SAF has implemented the project in three provinces of Balkh, Jawzjan and Saripul. The project aimed to ensure all working and street children enjoy equal rights, have opportunities to grow as other children and have access to better protection, education, health and recreational activities through 5 Kashanas. The direct beneficiaries of the project were street working children.

  • Strengthening Provincial HIV Program (SPHP):

Since April 2009, SAF was implementing the SPHP project in Balkh province. The project was being financially supported by GF/GIZ up to September 2013. The main purpose of the project was to reduce the spread of HIV, reduce morbidity and mortality of HIV; and to mitigate the social impact of HIV and AIDS among the vulnerable sections of the society (e.g. street working children, women, injecting drug users etc…) in Balkh province. The project after evaluation of donor was two times extended
